A “Women in Social Life” panel was organized at Iğdır University on the occasion of March 8 Women’s Day.
Organized in collaboration with Iğdır University Conflict Resolution and Coexistence Culture Research and Application Center (ANLAŞ-MER) and Iğdır University Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences (FEAS) Department of Political Science and Public Administration, the “Women in Social Life” panel was held at the Karaağaç Campus July 15 Martyrs Conference Hall. The panel was attended by Associate Dean of FEAS and Vice President of ANLAŞ-MER Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Kuyaksil, Iğdır University academics and students.
The panel was moderated by ANLAŞ-MER Director and Head of the Department of Political Science and Public Administration of FEAS Prof. Dr. Recep Gülşen, and the speakers were Lawyer Senem Önder Özbakır, Vaize Kudret Koçyiğit, Social Service Expert Özlem Sarıkaya and Woman Entrepreneur Kardelen Köroğlu. Prof. Dr. Following Gülşen’s opening speech; Lawyer Senem Önder Özbakır, “Gender Inequality and Violence Against Women”, Preacher Kudret Koçyiğit, “The Importance and Rights of Women in Islam”, Social Service Expert Özlem Sarıkaya, “Works of the Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor and Social Services for Women” made speeches. Female Entrepreneur Kardelen Köroğlu also shared her experiences about being a woman in business life. After the speeches, questions from the participants were answered.
The “Women in Social Life” panel ended with the presentation of certificates of appreciation by the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Kuyaksil to ANLAŞ-MER Director Prof. Dr. Recep Gülşen, and Prof. Dr. Recep Gülşen to the speakers.
